About Us

AFEG – Association Française pour l’Éducation et la Grandeur de la Culture Française

AFEG was born from a deep-seated conviction :

the French language and French culture constitute a universal heritage that each generation has a duty to pass on.

France is not merely a territory. It is a civilization.

As Charles de Gaulle once reminded us:

“France cannot be France without greatness.”

This greatness rests largely upon its culture, its thought, and its language.

The French language is far more than a tool for communication. It is an instrument of precision, clarity, and universality.

« Ce qui n’est pas clair n’est pas français. »
Antoine de Rivarol

Through the centuries, French culture has shaped literature, philosophy, law, the arts, and international diplomacy.

This sentence summarizes our mission:

« Chaque enfant qu’on enseigne est un homme qu’on gagne. »
Victor Hugo

our mission

AFEG’s exclusive objects are:

  • The promotion of the French language

  • The transmission of French culture

  • Support for educational programs dedicated to the teaching of France

  • French cultural influence and outreach, both in France and abroad

The association operates within a strictly educational and cultural framework, without any political, commercial, or religious affiliation.

We believe that French culture constitutes a fundamental pillar of European intellectual identity and a vital force for balance in international dialogue.

AFEG acts to ensure that this achievement is realized through education and transmission.

« La culture ne s’hérite pas, elle se conquiert. »
André Malraux
